About Me
Robert M. Meisner is the principal founding member of his AV rated firm (the highest rating given to law firms by judges and lawyers) concentrating in area of community association, condominium and real estate law, together with commercial and business litigation and contract matters.

Mr. Meisner was the first lawyer in Michigan, and is among the relatively select few attorneys in the country, who has been inducted into the College of Community Association Lawyers sponsored by the Community Association Institute, a national organization devoted to enhanced community association governance operation.

Mr. Meisner holds a bachelors degree and law degree from the University of Michigan, where he was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, as well as the Detroit, Oakland County and American Bar Associations.

Mr. Meisner was a co-draftsperson of the 1978 Michigan Condominium Act and has authored changes to the 1978 Condo Act enacted in 2001. He has also served as general legal counsel to the United Condominium Owners of Michigan (UCOM) since its inception in 1973. UCOM is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to educating and assisting condominium associations. Mr. Meisner has also served on the Committee on Leases, Cooperatives and Condominiums of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, the Uniform Planned Community Act Subcommittee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, the Committee on Condominiums, Cooperatives and Homeowner Associations for the American Bar Association, the Condominium Committee of the Building Industry of Southeastern Michigan and the Community Association Institute (CAI). He has served as a board member of the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce for ten (10) years. In the beginning years before starting his own practice, Mr. Meisner worked for several prominent law firms and served as a pre-hearing attorney for the Michigan Court of Appeals.

Mr. Meisner authors the "Real Estate Queries" column for the 13 Observer& Eccentric newspapers and has authored many articles for both UCOM and CAI. He has been a guest speaker on condominium matters throughout the country for such organizations as the Community Association Institute, the Institute for the Continuing Legal Education in Michigan, the United Condominium Owners of Michigan, Northwestern Michigan College, Grand Valley State University Central Michigan University and has appeared on various radio and TV programs. In February, 2003, He was a guest speaker on "The Handyman Show" with Glenn Haege. He has taught at Oakland University, Wayne State University and Oakland Community College for over 25 years.

Mr. Meisner serves as a case evaluator for Oakland, Wayne and Macomb County Circuit Courts.

Mr. Meisner has also been trained and certified to act as a facilitative mediator for the Oakland County Circuit Court. Recently, Mr. Meisner is an adjunct Professor for the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University and teaches a Law School course on Condominium Law.
